Rev. McChesney, S.J. serves the Jesuit Parishes of the Maryland Province as the Provincial Assistant Liaison for Pastoral Ministries. His father, Mr. McChesney is a retired attorney and very active Catholic in his early 80's. Father and son will discuss the issues of the shortage of vocations, the role of parents in fostering vocations for their children and offer insights, suggestions and hope.
This program is designed to be a dialogue of father and son; priest and active Catholic parent. The presentation will be interactive and will address questions and concerns about vocations to the priesthood, religious life and professional lay ministry.
This program is open to Catholics of all ages, whether parents or not. The issue is urgent. The prospects for the well-being of the future of the Church are marginal. Rev. McChesney will address the research studies and current projections and offer new and hopeful ways of responding.
