Funerals
As of May 1, 2007
Funeral Preparation
To arrange a funeral at Holy Trinity, at the time of death please contact the parish.  Please call the Parish Office, 202-337-2840.  After hours, please call 202-360-5412.

Members of the family will meet with the Priest and the Pastoral Associate for Liturgy.  Discussion of all elements of the funeral takes place at the time.  Guidance will be provided.

Setting the Time
The time and day of the Funeral involve many factors, and are always handled individually.  Talk to the Priest about setting the time for the Funeral or Memorial Service.
Words of Remembrance
Some families wish to have someone speak a few words to remember the person who has died (often called a eulogy).  The best time for this is at the funeral home itself, at informal prayer during the wake service.

Words of remembrance may be given during the Funeral or Memorial as well.  These words are usually given by one person, and are limited to three minutes.  The Priest will answer any questions.

Flowers
Flowers may be delivered or brought to the Church on the day of the Funeral or Memorial.  Deliveries should be made to the Parish Center address, 3513 N Street, NW, 20007.  After the service, the Funeral Home or family members normally remove the flowers from the Church.
Fees
There is no fee required by the Church for a Funeral or a Memorial Service.  Donations can be given to Holy Trinity in several ways.  See below for more information.

Professional services require fees.  The fees are:

Organist:  $200.00
Cantor:     $200.00
Other musicians may be contracted by Holy Trinity Church.  Fees vary
Parish Staff members will provide music.

Receptions
Reception space may be available:  McKenna Hall, Neale Room, East Garden and other areas must be reserved.  Please notify Carol Strickfaden 202-337-2840, ext 130 or email:  Carol Strickfaden.  Space is subject to approval and availability time.  A facilities charge of $350.00 is required for reception.
Donations
A donation at the time of the Funeral or Memorial may be given directly to the parish.  A modest offering of $250.00 will help defray the cost of utilities and staff.  Memorial gifts in the name of the deceased may also be directed to the Parish.

Named gift opportunities are available.  Some include inscribed bricks, large and small inscribed pavers, and Chapel benches, as well as other appointments.  For more information, contact the Director of Development, Mary Lynch, at 202-337-2840 x 147, or email:  Mary Lynch.

More Information
For any questions or more information, please contact the Pastoral Associate for Liturgy, Jim Wickman, at 202-337-2840 x 125, or email:  Jim Wickman.
