| Funeral Preparation |
To arrange a funeral at Holy Trinity, at the time of death please contact the parish. Please call the Parish Office, 202-337-2840. After hours, please call 202-360-5412.
Members of the family will meet with the Priest and the Pastoral Associate for Liturgy. Discussion of all elements of the funeral takes place at the time. Guidance will be provided. |
| Setting the Time |
The time and day of the Funeral involve many factors, and are always handled individually. Talk to the Priest about setting the time for the Funeral or Memorial Service. |
| Words of Remembrance |
Some families wish to have someone speak a few words to remember the person who has died (often called a eulogy). The best time for this is at the funeral home itself, at informal prayer during the wake service.
Words of remembrance may be given during the Funeral or Memorial as well. These words are usually given by one person, and are limited to three minutes. The Priest will answer any questions.
|
| Flowers |
Flowers may be delivered or brought to the Church on the day of the Funeral or Memorial. Deliveries should be made to the Parish Center address, 3513 N Street, NW, 20007. After the service, the Funeral Home or family members normally remove the flowers from the Church. |
