First Eucharist
Preparation begins January 2008
Sacramental preparation for Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation is a two-year process.  Children are to be in religious education or faith formation classes one year prior to the year in which the sacrament is to be received.
Sacramental Preparation at Holy Trinity is a collaboration of the parents as primary teachers of their child, catechists, and the community of faith as experienced through Sunday Liturgies.

In support of parents in their role as the primary teachers, two parent meetings are offered to offer insight into the curriculum, as it is shared in the classroom and in the book to be used at home in exploring the Sacrament of the Eucharist.  Parents are invited and strongly urged to attend these two meetings, as they offer current theological reflection on the sacrament and helpful information and insight for the preparation of their child.  In addition, the child and parent are asked to participate in a half day workshop in immediate preparation for the celebration of Eucharist.

Dress
The celebration of the Sacrament of the Eucharist is a special day for all of the community, families and child.  Attire that reflects the necessary reverence, dignity, joy and importance of this occasion is encouraged.  Simple garments for all are welcomed.

For boys:  slacks, shirt (long or short sleeve) and tie, and dress shoes are appropriate.
For girls:   a Sunday dress (white is not necessary) or dress slack outfit and dress shoes are fine.

Veils, gloves, purses, and any other hand held objects are usually distracting and therefore not always appropriate for this celebration.
