| Annual Pledge Program |
| What is the basis of the Annual Pledge? |
When we make the decision to join Holy Trinity, we take responsibility for contributing to the life and mission of this faith community. The Annual Pledge is based on the spiritual principles of stewardship and on the teaching of Jesus. Namely, all that we have and all that we are comes from God and, as a way to thank God for all God‘s blessings, we return a portion of the personal and financial gifts allotted to us. |
"As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God's varied grace." 1 Peter 4:10 |

What should I pledge?
The amount you pledge is your decision, based upon your situation. We ask that you first reflect on the importance of Holy Trinity in your life. Then, make your pledge accordingly, so that it’s part of your annual budget just like other items in your life.
How do I make my annual pledge?
Simply fill out your Annual Pledge Form indicating what you will give the
parish, then return it. Father Shea will acknowledge your pledge.
When do I begin paying my pledge?
You can begin paying your Annual Pledge at any time. It’s up to you how often you make payments. Some parishioners pay once a year, others pay weekly. The parish office will send you a quarterly statement with a record of your contributions to date. You will also receive an end of the year statement which serves as your receipt for Federal and State tax returns.
Can I pay my pledge with a credit card?
Yes. We have made it simple for you to use your VISA, MasterCard,
Discover or American Express by filling out the appropriate section on the pledge
form. Just indicate how much you want to contribute each month, provide
your card number and sign your name. We’ll take care of the rest. Or,
if you have a computer banking program, you can tell your financial institution
to send your contribution directly to Holy Trinity. Either way, you
don‘t have to worry about leaving your check on the kitchen counter on Sunday!

| One of my stocks has gone way up and I hear that I can give it to the Pledge Program and not pay capital gains. How do I do this? |
It is a simple matter to fulfill your pledge
(and possibly gain a tax advantage) by transferring shares of stock to the
Pledge Program. Discuss your
interest in doing so with your broker or financial advisor, then follow the
instructions on the pledge form. If
you need further information or have any additional questions, contact our Director of Development, Mary Lynch, 202-337-2840 ext. 147.
Why do we continue to pass the basket at Mass?
Many pledgers appreciate the convenience of placing their payments in the collection basket and non-pledging parishioners and visitors are also afforded the opportunity to make offertory contributions.
