Dear All,
On behalf of St. Rose Outreach and Recovery, I'd like to invite you to the St. Augustine Retreat Center in Bay St. Louis to celebrate the opening of our newly renovated recovery center. Over the past four months, St. Rose volunteers have been busy renovating the retreat center into a recovery center. This event also welcomes the many partners dedicated to helping Hancock County by locating their efforts at the St. Augustine Retreat Center: St. Rose Outreach and Recovery, the Salvation Army, Catholic Social and Community Services, the Gulf Coast Recovery Corps, and West Seneca AmeriCorps will all work out of the center. On Friday, January 26th at 11:00am sharp, St. Rose Outreach and Recovery will host community members, local officials and volunteers for a ribbon cutting ceremony and light lunch.
The St. Augustine Retreat Center will be a hub for Hancock County residents to find help on their road to recovery, as well as a center of volunteer activity. St. Rose Outreach and Recovery will house 35 volunteers daily who are dedicated to renovating affordable housing in this area. The Salvation Army will have case managers and a distribution center onsite, Catholic Social and Community Services will have case managers and house 30 volunteers at the center, West Seneca AmeriCorps will house many members of its Mississippi team there, and the Gulf Coast Recovery Corps will house 30 of its volunteers there each month. The convergence of these partners will provide residents a central location for help for the next 18 months.
So, please join us on Friday, January 26th at 11am at the St. Augustine Retreat Center to:
- Thank the Society of the Divine Work for graciously hosting St Rose Outreach and Recovery and its partners
- Celebrate the St. Rose volunteers who worked so hard to renovate the center
- Commemorate St. Rose Outreach and Recovery's return to its mission of rebuilding affordable housing in Hancock County
- Publicize the development of the many wonderful partnerships that will benefit this community.
We are very excited about this opportunity to continue to help Hancock County recover from Hurricane Katrina, and we appreciate your support in spreading the news to the community.
Sincerely,
Beau Saccoccia
