Social Justice

The Social Justice Ministry responds in prayer and reflection, direct service, advocacy, and donations to the needs of the parish and its parishioners and to the social needs in the diverse urban diocese and community who are our neighbors - and beyond these borders to a sister parish and national and international Jesuit social services.  When program priorities are being set and choices made about resource allocation, the Ministry actively advocates for preferential treatment for the poor and marginalized in our community.

SOCIAL JUSTICE IN LENT:  Christ in Our Midst -  A Journey with Our Homeless Brothers and Sisters invites all parishioners to make this Lenten journey with Christ as we seek to see him in our homeless sisters and brothers.  Sign up for a one time direct service opportunity between February 28th and March 13th at various organizations in DC working with the poor and homeless.  Attend social justice education and advocacy presentations on homelessness - and reflect in prayer on our experiences.

Calender for the whole Lenten Program.
